TIP: 4-Wheel Drive Summer Operation
posted: July 13th, 2009
During the summer months, those of us with 4-wheel drive vehicles tend not to use our 4-wheel drive capabilities. Unless we're in the woods, why should we? Well, it's the summer months that 4-wheel drive parts and drive train seals tend to deteriorate the quickest. So, my best advice is to engage your 4-wheel drive system once a month throughout the summer and fall to keep those parts from needing replacement when it is least convenient (i.e. the winter).
Note: Don't make any sharp turns on pavement while in 4-wheel drive.
